A parent education program in progress.
Parents play a crucial role in the wholistic development of the child.
When I say wholistic I mean both skills and values.
Of the two values education is the most important. Skills can be learnt anywhere. Schools, collages and universities teach skills. But where will the child learn values from?
Parents, of course.
Besides values, parents' role in imparting skills/ education is crucial.
Are parents adequately equipped to discharge their responsibilities?
Unfortunately no - at least in a vast majority of instances. Parents lack awareness of the importance of their role in the development of the child. They mistakenly believe that schools are responsible for providing education to the child.
Even if parents know their importance they are not adequately equipped with knowledge and skills required to perform their role.
I have dedicated a major part of my work in the area of parent education. This is because I firmly believe in the concept of parent education.
If you (a parent) or your organisation in interested in parent education please contact me. I have proven and structured modules readily available for deployment.
