Education of Street Children

 

A child from the street or such extremely poor and neglected sections of the society is entitled to dream. A big dream some times.

Governments, NGOs, Corporate CSR initiatives are doing phenomenal work for educating and development of street and other children.

Despite such herculean efforts from several quarters, still a lot remains to  be done.

I was fortunate to be closely and deeply involved in several initiatives for the education and development of street children.

I had the opportunity design models for the rapid development of street children. The focus was on bring them up to the level that they can be usefully employed. In a particular program I with the CSR wing of a reputed corporate successfully launched a program to educate street children so that they could be employed as highway toll system operators within a few weeks.
